Bogotá, Colombia – Today, Wednesday, January 31, the city faces a new emergency with a wildfire on El cerro del cable. The fire has ignited on the southeastern side of the mountain.

In the early afternoon hours, Bogotá’s firefighters mobilized resources to address this new wildfire on El Cerro del cable. According to the report from Bogotá Fire Department, drone surveillance is being conducted to assess the fire’s direction and develop possible strategies to prevent its spread.

The Marichuela fire station reports that they have successfully controlled a forest fire on 69G South 6A East Street.

As of now, the firefighters’ report does not indicate any injured individuals as a result of this wildfire.
